Munn Ice Arena renovations recap

Munn Ice Arena began renovations last week and shut down the entire arena until the renovations are complete. Students who have played organized or intramural hockey here at MSU are going to have to search for other hockey accommodations around the East Lansing area this spring. IM hockey for the 2014 will be put on hold until renovations are complete. What else could have been done to keep the IM hockey league going? That is a question many students have been asking themselves and trying to figure out. With how cold of a winter we had why couldn't they make out door  ice rinks like the one at Chandlers Crossings? It puts a damper on many students who have played IM hockey in the past and were looking forward to putting together teams and playing organized hockey like they used to back in high school.

Munn Ice Arena renovations Preview

Starting last week, Munn Ice Arena started its' renovation process. With the renovations going on Munn has shut down the arena completely and began the rebuilding process. So what does that mean for student hockey players? No intramural hockey for the 2014 season. The cancelation of IM hockey has some students disappointed with the lack of ice time provided to the students before the renovations began and many students feel there could have been some type of alternative.

BREAKING NEWS: Game Time Decision

As McCabe sat and watched a little more NCAA March Madness a Jimmy John's commercial came on and he immediately became interested but wasn't sure if he wanted to
make the trip. A few moments later he got up and had his eye on the prize.

"I'm too hungry to make food," said McCabe.

As soon as McCabe got to JJ's he ran in really quick and came back out with his sub ready to eat. Before he could even put his car in reverse he was unwrapping his sub and preparing to feast.

"Good thing Jimmy John's is freaky fast," said McCabe. "I'm about to eat it just as fast as it takes them to make it."

McCabe definitely meant what he said on the way back about eating it freaky fast because the entire sandwich was consumed in under five minutes. Shortly after McCabe made his way to his room to finish up on some statistics homework and catch up no some sleep.

BREAKING NEWS: Voicemail

After neuroscience junior Ian McCabe returned home from work and caught himself up on his NCAA brackets he noticed his phone had died. McCabe did what most youth with a dead cell phone does in today's day and age and found his charger to plug in his phone.

A few minutes later his phone powered back on and he noticed an unusual amount of missed calls from his mother and one voicemail. McCabe said that he is not one to talk to his mom much throughout the week so it must have been something important.

McCabe picked up his phone and listened to his voicemail and let out a few chuckles. When he got off the phone he stated that everything was fine, "She wanted to know where I put a box of old clothes last time I was home," said McCabe.
